A few useful details
Which matters more: pixels or file size?+
They measure different things. Pixels describe dimensions; KB and MB describe stored bytes. A form may require both, so check both limits.
Can I compress a scan without making text unreadable?+
Start with the original and inspect small text at full size. A strict size target may require a tradeoff; do not use a result you cannot read.
Will my image keep its quality?+
Lossy compression changes pixels. We preserve dimensions where possible, keep a quality floor and only shrink when you allow it. Compare the result before using it.
What if the target is too small?+
You’ll see a warning if your settings can’t meet the limit. Raise the limit or allow smaller dimensions. Files that exceed the limit never count as successful results.
Are my files uploaded?+
Non-AI tools process files locally in your browser without uploading them or requiring an account. AI tools use remote processing and are clearly labeled. Files are uploaded only after you explicitly confirm; local tools never switch to cloud processing automatically.
