Change pixel width without stretching the subject

Enter the target width; height follows the original aspect ratio. This is useful for preparing a smaller sharing copy or a consistent set of images. It does not crop to an arbitrary width and height.

Larger dimensions do not recover detail

Upscaling must be explicitly allowed. Ordinary resampling adds pixels but cannot recover missing facial or text detail. If the destination also has a byte limit, pass the resized result to compression and inspect it again.

A few useful details

Can I set any width and height independently?+

This tool preserves the source proportions when resizing. Crop first if you need a different shape instead of stretched pixels.

Does a smaller image always have a smaller file size?+

No. Encoding and format also affect bytes. Check the output file or use a size-target compressor if you need a strict limit.

Will my image keep its quality?+

Lossy compression changes pixels. We preserve dimensions where possible, keep a quality floor and only shrink when you allow it. Compare the result before using it.

Are my files uploaded?+

Non-AI tools process files locally in your browser without uploading them or requiring an account. AI tools use remote processing and are clearly labeled. Files are uploaded only after you explicitly confirm; local tools never switch to cloud processing automatically.
